Registered General Nurse
(Day/Night Shift) - Zero Hour - Bank Staff

You will be working along side our Manager and Deputy Manager.    In the absence of the Deputy Manager the nurse may be identified as the senior member of staff in charge and also a working member of the care team who has overall responsibility for the nursing management of the home.  Whilst maintaining high professional standards of care and monitor the performance of carers.  

Job Role

  • To assist with the creation and maintenance of Care Plans – Primary Nurse Role - and to ensure that these are followed and evaluated at regular intervals.

  • To ensure that all treatments are carried out in accordance with good nursing practice and comply with legislative requirements. 

  • To assist with the induction of new staff members and continuous development, Supervisions of care staff. 

  • To assist with the training of all grades of staff where appropriate and identify any training which staff would find beneficial. 

  • To maintain effective communications with residents and relatives and involve them in all decisions about their care. 

  • To liaise with all care professionals as part of an effective multi-disciplinary approach to care. 

  • To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times. 

  • Carry out shift start and end “handover”. 

  • Maintain personal contact with residents throughout your working shift. 

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required.  Participate in the supervision of others following our supervision policy.  Attend all mandatory training as per instructed and be confident and competent in clinical procedures and continue with all PREP requirements. 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Holding a Current RGN (or equivalent) qualification and must be currently on the NMC Register.

  •  Excellent leadership & communication skills.

  •  Demonstrate a knowledge of the Care Quality Commission & its influence on the way Bryher Court works

Care Assistant - Night Shift
(Day/Night Shift) - Zero Hour - Bank Staff

As part of our Care Team you will be delivering a high standard for day to day care to residents as directed by the care plan for that individual and reporting changes or concerns to the Nursing Team.   Our staff are highly trained in providing care with the upmost dignity, empathy and compassion.

Job Role

  • Assist in enabling residents to live their chosen lifestyle, giving caring support in maintaining their personal hygiene, dressing, meal times and going to bed.

  • To deliver care to residents as directed by the care plan for that individual, reporting changes or concerns to the Nurse in Charge or other qualified nursing staff, both verbally and in writing on resident’s general condition and wellbeing.

  • To establish and maintain good relationships with residents, their relatives and visitors.

  • Support the Domestic team in maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.

  • Compassionate, caring and considerate.

  • Experience in working with older people and a willingness to learn.

 

Qualification/Experience

  • ​Either currently holding NVQ level 2 or working towards the qualification would be an advantage

  • Attend all mandatory training courses

  • Enhanced DBS will be applied for, if not already held
